"something a little different, something a little special"
Your room
we offer our guests a luxurious, spacious ground floor room complete with an en suite shower room - the inspiration for the room was a wall hanging purchased in Delhi hence the strong colour scheme including a hot pink rubber floor - strictly no stilettos or kitten heels !
facilities:
• ceiling chains which serve as your wardrobe space
• plenty of traditional style drawers
• filtered water kept in an aqua blue Bombay Gin bottle
• wi-fi accessibility
• TV/DVD, CD/Tuner including things to play
• the means to make a variety of hot drinks, fresh fruit, biccies and other treats
• use of robes, slippers and various toiletries (Neal’s Yard organic remedies)
• copies of Wallpaper, books and other interesting reading material
• and lest we forget…to add to the fun…a disco ball.
the house is only one room deep so it enjoys the morning sun to the front and sunsets to the rear - there is access to the rear garden via French windows in your room - seating is available for your use outside
Grub and glug
special emphasis is placed on local, and mostly, organic produce (Jamie and Hugh would be VERY pleased) - most herbs used will be from our own garden otherwise our main source of fresh produce is the Goods Shed in Canterbury
breakfast
will provide you with a choice of food both hot and cold
• cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheeses
• breads and preserves
• choose your own traditional English breakfast – your preferred style of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato…
• smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a very special secret ingredient…
• simple boiled egg and soldiers
• fresh, whole kippers
• drinks will include freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices, a variety of teas and coffees
(special dietary requirements will not be a problem at all - vegetarians, wheat free, whatever your needs)
private dining
something that we pride ourselves on
book in advance and revel in the delights of a candlelit, moody, atmospheric, romantic dinner for two…during those chillier months an open fire will complete the picture - our style is gastro and good – examples include a warm chicken salad with an array of fresh leaves and herbs or a roast pheasant with garlic and olive oil baked potatoes served with fresh, seasonal veg - things to start and finish too if you wish washed down by a wine of your choice from our own rack - we like to spoil our guests so there may well be a few treats thrown in for good measure…attention to detail is our thing so we hope you won’t be disappointed
bar
we don’t have one! But… we offer a small selection of drinks available - please just ask.
eating out
there are many good pubs in the immediate area and Faversham, Canterbury and Whitstable have some particularly good restaurants but you will need transport to get to all of them
in the event that you have reached Pond Cottage by foot or bike we will provide a lift to a local hostelry foc …for further afield there will be a small charge (see rates page).
Extras
walks
step outside and wander around: there are many varieties of fruit tree, a large natural pond
wander further afield and there are no end of short walks to be taken to get some fresh air and to stretch the legs
for those wishing for more of a walking "workout" we can provide maps and books containing the relevant and necessary information (see Walking information under “the area")

for some serious pampering... for a little extra indulge yourselves - sip champagne whilst you wallow in a candlelit bath with views to the front of the house
massages
and... after a day's walking or simply because you deserve it an on site massage can be arranged for you with a qualified therapist, see our Pamper Packages” page
hot tub
and finally….step outside your room into the rear garden and into the secluded joys of a sunken cedar wood hot tub. It is quite simply divine!
